Peter Hultgren and Kristina Olson

Peter Hultgren was born in Savsjo, Smaland, Sweden in 1885. His family immigrated first to the USA and then to Canada, arriving in the Midale area in 1903. Kristina was born in Delsbo Sweden in 1889. Her family came to the Estevan area in 1904 and homesteaded near Torquay. Peter and Kristina were married in 1910 and took up residence in Midale. In their brief married life of eight years before Kristina died in the influenza epidemic of 1918, five children were born to them. Myrtle in 1910, Ellen in 1912, Arthur in 1913, Leonard in 1916, and Gladys in 1917. In the same year as their mother, Myrtle and Gladys died and Peter was left to raise the three remaining children.
